Kings Meadows Ridge FMBZ

A request by the City of Launceston to have Fire Ready Services create a fuel modified buffer zone at Kings Meadows Ridge Reserve. ArcGIS mapping of the area was conducted prior to commencing operations. Small heaps were created within the boundaries of the FMBZ, and a simplex burn plan was created by FRS. Fire Ready Services then conducted the burning operation, once the heaps were dry and conditions suited for a safe, simple burn.

A careful approach was taken to ensure that new regrowth, flora, and fauna are protected in our approach.

A large amount of fuel load was removed from within the FMBZ.

Local residents and members of the public have an appreciation for the works undertaken, as this has now created a safer environment between bushland and private assets.
